My Story

About Me

Hi! I'm Edward Mena, a student of Videogame Design and Development at Universitat Jaume I.

I’m passionate about creating interactive experiences that blend visual impact, technical precision, and meaningful design. My main interests lie in visual effects and technical design, and I aim to keep growing as a professional in the videogame industry.

I also have a deep passion for motorsport, and my dream is to one day work at a videogame studio or racing simulator developer, where I can unite both worlds I love.

Goblinmancer

Turn-based Tower Defense where the player defends from goblins. Focus on VFX and graphics.

Turn-based Tower Defense "spooky-themed" videogame. I mainly took part in the VFX and graphics creation and implementation. Made by the team Back to Bits in the Game Jam Jamsepticeye 25'.

Bachelor Thesis

Neon Rush

Racing videogame with custom track builder. I handled VFX, post-process and physics.

Racing videogame where the player can create its own tracks with the building tool. This is my Bachelor's thesis project. I took part in all the VFX, post-process, car behaviour and physics.

Infinite FPS movement shooter. Developed in 48h to explore toon shaders.

Infinite FPS movement shooter. Developed in 48h to explore new mechanics, their implementation challenges and dig further into the use of toon shaders.

Comet Strike

Action videogame focused on movement and defeating waves of enemies. Deep dive into Unity VFX.

Action videogame where the player must defeat waves of enemies. The main purpose was to start scratching the surface of VFX and Shaders inside Unity.

Graphic adventure to promote local tourism. I worked on art and coding.

A short graphic adventure where the player explores the town of Castellnovo. I took part in the art and several coding parts. Made to promote local tourism.

DevKitPro

Factory Wars

Strategy game inspired by PvZ. Developed using DevKitPro for Nintendo DS.

Plants vs Zombies inspired game where the player defends his factory. Made using DevKitPro and NightFox's Lib for the Subject "Game Consoles".

Engineering & Passion

Formula Student
UJIMotorsport

Motorsport has always been one of my passions. Joining the UJIMotorsport team allowed me to dive into high-performance engineering.

I specialized in the Aerodynamics department, using Solidworks and StarCCM+ to design and optimize the aero package. From CFD simulations to Carbon Fiber lamination manufacturing, I've been involved in the entire lifecycle of the vehicle.
